Greetings and Salutations

These are thoughts that I like. Not all of them are mine, but some are. I hope they give you something to think about.

Thoughts

Three things from which never to be moved: one's Oaths, one's Gods, and the Truth.
The three highest causes of the true human are: Truth, Honor, and Duty.
Three candles that illuminate every darkness: Truth, Nature, and Knowledge.

They say that nice guys finish last. That is a myth. In reality nice guys sometimes fail to finish, and some even fail to start.

Life is sometimes called a game. This isn't true. In a game someone has a chance to win.

We are each born on a path. This is the path of life. We walk this path to the end. Some walk the path of joy, some of great sadness. Some with with a companion, some with a couple, some with many, and some must walk this path alone. It is not the path that matters, nor the destination, it is how well we walk it that counts.

This is a perfect quote about how true friendship works.
This is from book one of the "Song of the Lioness" series "Alanna: The First Adventure" by Tamora Pierce:

"George," Alanna said. The other two looked at her. Her face was bewildered. "I-I don't understand," she stammered. "Why do this for me? You went to a lot of trouble. Why?"
George looked at her for a long moment. Finally he replied, "And why do you find it so hard to think someone might like you and want to do things for you? That's the way of friendship, lad."
Alanna shook her head. "But I haven't done anything for you."
"That's not how it works," the thief said dryly.
This was confusing, and Alanna said so. "George laughed and took them to lunch.

Paraphrased from Babylon 5's "And the Sky Full of Stars"
"Everyone lies. The innocent lie because they don't want to be blamed for something they didn't do, and the guilty lie because they don't have any other choice."

"If all my friends jump off a bridge, I wouldn't jump with them, I'd be at the bottom to catch them."

Rebirth involves making yourself who you should be, not who you want to be.
